This Moc has been done close to minifig-scale. You can fit 4-troopers inside and have functional door and windscreen! Escape pods were small emergency craft used to escape starships which were heavily damaged and even on the brink of destruction. Pods were kept loaded and prepared aboard larger starships in launch tubes ready to be activated at a moment’s notice.
